Drimnagh has a residential capacity of nearly 5,000 properties which are a mixture of private dwellings and social housing. Drimnagh is a Commuter Belt with access to bus and luas services and therefore is a potential area for expansion. Dublin City Council and An Bord Pleannála have approved the development of all canal brownfield sites to a maximum height of nine stories. This means the population of Drimnagh will expand over the next couple of years.
